Is there an app in the App Store? Not yet. ktog is a web app: open ktog.app on your phone and add it to your home screen, and it works just like an app, including offline row counting. App Store and Google Play versions may come later.

How do I add ktog to my home screen? On iPhone: open ktog.app in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android: open it in Chrome and tap Install app.

Who makes ktog? One knitter who wanted a better way to knit with friends. Questions or ideas? Write to hello@ktog.app. Every email gets read.

Can my friends see my pattern? No. Your pattern stays yours. People in your Loop see the pattern's name and designer (with a link to buy it), your current section and how far along you are. They never see the pattern itself, your notes or your row counts.

Who sees what I post? You decide, every time. When you share a photo or note, you choose who sees it: one of your Loops, a KAL you've joined, or the public feed where other knitters can find it. There's no default: you pick the audience for every post. Loops themselves are always private and joined by invite link only. Your pattern, notes and row counts are never shared, whichever you choose.

Do you sell my data or show ads? No, and no. There are no ads and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers.

Can I take my data with me? Yes. Settings → Your data → Download gives you your projects, notes and photos. You can delete your account there too, and everything is gone within 30 days.

Does ktog use AI? No. There's no AI anywhere in the app. When you import a pattern, ktog reads its text with simple, fixed rules, for example to spot headings like "Yoke" or "Body" and suggest sections. Your patterns, notes and photos are never sent to an AI service or used to train AI. There are no AI-generated patterns or images on ktog, and AI-generated work passed off as handmade or original isn't allowed in the community either.

What if I see AI-generated content? Tap Report on the post. We'll take a look.

Is ktog free? Yes. Tracking your projects, Loops and joining free knit-alongs are free, and will stay free.

What's a Loop? A private group of 2–12 friends who share their progress. Start one in seconds, invite friends with a link, and see where everyone is on the progress strand. You don't all need to knit the same pattern.

What's the difference between a Loop and a KAL? A Loop is your small group of friends, with no schedule. A KAL (knit-along) is a bigger hosted event, usually run by a designer, dyer or yarn shop, with a start date and sometimes clues or milestones.

Will I get spoilers in a mystery KAL? Not if we can help it. Each clue has its own chat, and later clues stay hidden until you mark the earlier one done.

Can I crochet? Of course. Loops welcome crochet and every other craft.

Is ktog accessible? We've designed ktog to be calm and readable, with high-contrast colours, large tap targets, light and dark modes, and screen reader support. Text size and contrast settings are in onboarding, not hidden away. If something doesn't work for you, please tell us at hello@ktog.app.

What if someone is unkind in my Loop? Loop owners can remove posts and members. Anyone can tap Report on a post, message or profile, and you can block someone so they can't see or message you. Our Community guidelines explain what isn't allowed.
